The Ayurvedic dosha system is a powerful system to help you recognize which elements you most identify with and can use to guide your lifestyle, giving you a greater understanding of yourself and how to take better care of your overall well-being.

Step 1:

Learn About the Elements:

In the Ayurvedic system, there are five “elements” that can affect our well-being – Space, Air, Fire, Water, and Earth – and these elements can be combined into three “doshas” or energies – Vata (Space and Air), Pitta (Fire and Water), and Kapha (Earth and Water). To best understand your element and dosha, it’s helpful to learn about each one, and how they all interact with each other.

Step 2:

Figure Out Your Element:

Now that you’ve gotten to know the elements and doshas, it’s time to figure out which one is your main energy. To begin, ask yourself a few simple questions. Do you find you’re happiest when you’re outdoors and active? If so, you might relate to Air and Space, or Vata Energy. Are you naturally driven and organized? Then your element could be Fire and Water, or Pitta energy. Are you laid back and relaxed? Then you’re likely connected to Earth and Water, or Kapha energy.

Step 3:

Embrace Your Element:

Once you’ve figured out your element, the next step is to live by it! This can mean making small changes to your lifestyle, such as exercising more if you relate to pitta energy, or eating lighter at meals if you relate to Kapha energy. You can also find creative ways to express your element with activities like yoga and meditation.

Living according to your element can help you to become more balanced, healthy and overall happier – so go explore, and see how your Ayurvedic dosha element can guide your journey!
